Installation - BladeTape
1. Make sure blade surface is clean and dry. If installing on an old blade ensure blade is free of burrs, cracks etc. by removing or sanding smooth. Remove all old tape debris and residue.
2. Optional - you can roughen blade surface with a light sandpaper to enhance adhesion. Re-clean surface as necessary. But we at BladeTape don't personally do this.
BLADETAPE NOW RECOMMENDS SANDING THE LOWER QUALITY PAINTED HOCKEY STICKS. IF YOU ARE USING A LOWER QUALITY PAINTED BLADE, YOU MUST USE SANDPAPER FIRST TO REMOVE THE THINLY APPLIED PAINT AND LACQUER, THEN APPLY YOUR BLADETAPE TO A CLEAN DRY SURFACE THAT CAN HANDLE THE SUPERIOR BOND STRENGTH OF OUR ADHESIVE BACKING.
3. Ensure both blade and BladeTape are at, or above room temperature. Best application and performance is achieved if installed the night before the game.
4. Lay BladeTape on clean table surface to determine fit. If necessary, cut/trim BladeTape with scissors prior to removal of the adhesive backing paper. Re-test and adjust as necessary.

6. Apply BladeTape onto the blade working from center lower edge and working outward in both directions. Minimize air pockets. Re-lift and apply as required to eliminate any air pockets.THERE IS NO NEED TO STRETCH THE BLADETAPE AS YOU PLACE ON YOUR BLADE.
7. When satisfied BladeTape is positioned properly, press firmly in place with warm hand pressure.
8. Note: If BladeTape becomes cut or damaged, warm the blade by hand and eliminate water from the area. Simply flatten and press the damaged area back down onto the blade. Small cuts/gouges can be removed without affecting grip/performance.
